Robert "IronE" Singleton - husband and father of three - masterfully balances his family life with numerous jobs and projects. "IronE" in short, is an intriguingly complex and passionately inspired entertainer. Being a graduate in Theatre and Speech Communications from the University of Georgia and born and raised in the inner city of Atlanta GA, IronE brings the dualism of street knowledge and scholarly intellect to the industry. Cultivating his craft throughout his life's journey, IronE has blossomed into a prophetic AMC LAD (Actor, Model, Comedian, Lyricist, Athlete, and Dancer).
IronE's unsurpassable passion and drive peaked during his earlier years of dancing and recreational football. He has always had a die-hard and live harder mentality; one that against many odds landed him on the football playing field of
Kentucky State University (KSU) and later the
Bulldog's football field of the University of Georgia (UGA). While football served as IronE's physical outlet and alternative to violence in the inner city, acting served as a supplement which later became his passion, giving him the freedom of spiritual and emotional expression for which he had always longed.
At KSU, IronE was given his first opportunity to test his raw acting talent. He knew almost instantaneously during his performance of
Sophisticated Ladies that he had discovered his element. He furthered his acting career at UGA where after two performances,
Fences and The Colored Museum, the President of the Black Theatrical Ensemble (BTE), recognizing his raw talent and passion for acting, nominated him to be his successor as President of BTE. It was as President he gained a vast array of technical, marketing, and managerial experiences. After years of training and theatrical performances including A Soldiers Play, Richard III, Angels in America etc., IronE landed a lead role in Georgia Public Television's Transitions. IronE was on his way.
IronE's career took flight as he awed his audiences throughout America in the national stage play Sugar Daddy where he acted opposite world renowned entertainers such as Ralph Tresvant from New Edition, Ali Woodson from the Temptations, Bernadette Stanis (Thelma) from Goodtimes, Christopher Martin (Play) from Kid 'N' Play and Jamecia Bennett & Qwan Howell from Sounds of Blackness. IronE performed before the likes of Chris Tucker, Prince, Jay-Z, Beyonce, Jermaine Dupree, Usher, and a host of others. He shared screen time with Denzel Washington in the soon to be classic Remember the Titans. Several independent films and popular stage plays have followed. It was not long before IronE's artistic ambition compelled him to branch into other realms of entertainment.
His creative talent went ballistic as he began writing stand-up-comedy, screen plays, stage plays, and lyrics. He took to the night club stages around Atlanta including Chris Tucker's Comedy Club where he gained great comedic sensibility which contributed to him completing his first comedic screen play entitled White Man, Black Man, Jew Man in which he will star and direct 2006 with a cast of soon-to-be discovered talents. IronE is also in production on his first album IronE…The Resurrection of. It is an ingenious piece of work that entertains, informs, educates, and captivates through hip-hop lyrics sprinkled with his multicultural experience and a dash of IronE. This album is sure to revolutionize the music industry.
IronE's most current film project Somebodies, written and directed by Hadjii, featured him in the 2006 Sundance Film Festival as "Janoah". IronE is on the verge of attending law school for entertainment in 06' to solidify his stature and become a true tour de force in the industry.
Don't snooze on IronE Singleton; a spiritually driven individual whose many profound experiences allow him to bring a high level of humanity to his craft. He is one entertainer that will soon take the WORLD by eclipse.
She told me purpose in life is to help others search for theirs' and on that journey you will find yours…inspire humanity.
